Panama City excursions
The city of Panama has a lot to offer. The most important attraction here is the Canal but this modern, multicultural city offers an ample option activities, hotels, restaurants, cultural attractions, night life and shopping malls. If you are in Panama City you should not miss the canal, the historic center, the old city, the modern area, the Las Americas bridge (the bridge that unites America), the Amador Causeway and Gamboa. Gamboa is located within the Canal Zone, surrounded by an abundance of vegetation. Here you will find the Municipal Summit Park and Soberania National Park both good options for hikes and birding.

Rainforest excursions
Panama offers many attractions but one you should not miss if you like the outdoors is a rainforest excursion. There are many national parks where you can find an abundance of wildlife. You can take tours from Panama City or travel to other destinations not so close to the city. Between the destinations to enjoy the rainforest in Panama are Boquete, Campana, Darien National Park and El Valle de Anton.

Beach Resorts
Panama is well known for its beaches in both Pacific and Caribbean oceans. The Pacific Ocean is the most developed with All-Inclusive Resorts located less than 2 hours from Panama City. One of the main beach areas is Playa Blanca. You will find long white sand beaches and hotels and restaurants for all tastes.
The Azuero Peninsula, located in the south-west of Panama, is a land of traditions and folklore. The best assets Azuero has to offer to travelers are its deserted, long and narrow sandy beaches, surrounded by soft hills and green pastures. Due to the scarcity of rainfall during all year, the east coast of Azuero is called “arco seco” or “dry arc”, and it is perfect for those who like constant good weather.

Island activities
Panama has lots of beautiful islands on the Pacific and Caribbean coast. To mention a few islands: Pearl Islands Archipelago, Coiba, Taboga Island, Boca Brava and Isla Iguana in the Pacific and Bocas del Toro Archipelago and San Blas Archipelago in the Caribbean.

Indigenous culture
Panama has 7 indigenous groups which vary in individual size. The Indigenous groups are Bokota, Embera, Guaymí, Guna, Ngöbe-Buglé, Talamanca, Trive and Wounaan. There are Embera Villages that tourists can visit from Panama City. You can learn about their way of living, medicinal plants they use, the food and other cultural aspects. The Guna indigenous villages are also one of the main attractions in Panama because of the region they live in. Most of the Guna people live on small islands off the coast of the Comarca (Reserve) of Guna Yala, also known as the San Blas Islands. Due to the natural beauty of the islands, San Blas is one of the main tourist attraction destinations.

Water sports
There are many water sports that can be practiced in Panama. Between these water sports are fishing, skiing, surfing, boating, snorkeling, kayaking, river rafting, and many others. Depending on the destination you choose you can practice different water sports. If you are interested in Surfing, you should go to Azuero, if you want to go diving then you should go to Bocas del Toro. For snorkeling you can go to San Blas Islands or Bocas del Toro. From the city you can do day tours to the beach, river or lake to do different water sports.

Canal tours
One of the main attractions in Panama City is the canal. You will find different tour options to choose from. You can sail through the full canal length from Pacific to Caribbean or take a partial cruise on the Pacific side. You can visit the Visitors Center at the Miraflores Locks, go to the Canal Expansion Observation center, or kayak on Lake Gatun. Lake Gatun is part of the Canal and you can also take boat tours to explore the flora and fauna of the lake.
