Volcan Panama

On the western slope of Volcan Baru, only 30 minutes away from the city of David, lies the small town of Volcan. It is located in the province of Chiriqui, at an altitude that varies between 4,000 and 5000 feet above the sea level. This area of Panama, blessed by nature, is famous for its year round perfect weather (between 60-80 F°) and the natural beauty of the territory, whose mountains resemble the Alps. On clear days, from the highest craters of the extinct, 12,000-feet high Volcan Baru, it is even possible to observe the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.

Volcan and its surrounding areas house an incredible variety of flora and fauna. Although tourism is rapidly growing, the most important commercial activities are still agriculture and cattle farming. The rich and fertile soil is ideal to grow oranges, coffee and flowers, which are exported all over the world.
