Tour Program (9 Days / 8 Nights)

Day 1: Arrive Panama
Arrive at the international airport, where you will be met by our driver and taken to your hotel in Panama City. Overnight at hotel of your choice in the city.

Day 2: City Tour & Panama Canal (Miraflores Locks)
This full day tour is the perfect way to discover Panama City. First thing, you will visit the ruins of the “Old Panama” – the first city on the Central American Isthmus founded by the Spanish. From here, accompanied by your guide, you will continue to the “Casco Antiguo” or Old Quarter – the city built in 1673 after the “Old Panama” was looted and burned.  During the expedition through this colonial part of the city you will have the opportunity to visit some churches – including the famous Golden Altar which survived the plundering and destruction of pirate Morgan, and different parks and plazas while you learn about the history of the city. To end the day, you will visit to the emblematic Panama Canal. Visiting the Miraflores Locks visitor center – the nearest set of locks to the city. (BL)

Day 3:  Embera Quera Tour
This tour starts early in the morning at 8:00 a.m., when we will travel to the end of the Gatun River where the Embera Quera Indigenous Community is located. Your adventure begins with a 30-minute ride through the river in a motorized canoe; during the trip is possible to enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna of the region and learn a little bit about the lifestyle of the community.  Once in the community, one of the members will explain you in detail about the culture, the food and the language of the Emberas; and will answer all the questions you may have about their way of life. Besides, a cultural presentation with traditional dances and music will allow you to interact with the group and the members of the community. A light, traditional lunch is included during the tour; usually based on the catch of the day. At the end, you will have the opportunity to shop some of the handmade crafts by the community residents. (BL)

Day 4: Panama Rainforest Discovery Center and Boquete
The Panama Rainforest Discovery Center is located on the famous Pipeline Road, one of the most renowned places in the world for bird watching.  The tour begins in the visitor center, where it’s possible to observe up to 13 different species of hummingbirds while they approach to the feeders located in the terrace. vThen, taking a small trail of about 200 meters you will get to the observation tower. This tower has 100 feet height and to go up to the highest point you will need to climb a spiral staircase of 174 steps, with observation platforms every 25 feet until the terrace which exceeds the forest canopy.

Additionally, there is a circuit of 1.1 kilometers of trails through the forest, with a difficulty from mild to moderate. The tour has a duration of 4 hours. After the tour, we will transfer you to Albrook domestic airport to take a flight to David. Upon arrival in David we will transfer you to Boquete. (B)

Day 5: Coffee Tour and Hanging Bridges Tour
First you will take the two hours Coffee tour, this interesting coffee tour begins right in the fields of this town, where you will get a glimpse of the three vital factors that influence the coffee’s quality: the soil, the micro-climate, and the particular genetics of the variety; and you will learn about the history, origin, qualities and secrets of coffee handling. In the second phase of the tour, you will learn about coffee production - all the way from ripe coffee cherry to roasted bean. The tour ends at the Tasting Table. The second tour is the hanging Bridges, also a two hours tour. During this tour well accompanied by your guide, you will start the hanging bridges hike – which is a unique opportunity to enjoy from a different perspective the biodiversity of the tropical cloud forest of Panama. You will cross 8 suspension bridges ranging from 70 to 135 meters’ long, and with heights that can reach the 75 meters above ground. This journey traverse a cloud forest with century-old trees, waterfalls, and abundant wildlife including native species, monkeys, and even the famous resplendent quetzal. (B)

Day 6: Bocas del Toro
After breakfast, we will transfer you by car to Almierante in Bocas del Toro where you will take a shared boat transportation to Isla Colon, once on the island you will take a shared transportation to your hotel. (B)

Day 7: Isla Pajaro (Bird Island), Boca Drago & La Estrella Beeach Tour
This shared full day tour combines the exploration of the natural wonders of Bocas del Toro with the relaxation of its beaches. First, you will visit Bird Island – a real paradise for the bird lovers. The island is a rocky formation approximately 70 meters long and 55 meters high.  After this, you will make a boat ride to the northwest of Colon Island, to get to Boca del Drago – one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. Here you will have some free time to relax in the beautiful white sand beach and enjoy the turquoise waters. To end the journey, you will visit the Starfish Beach. Lunch is included in a local restaurant. (BL)

Day 8: Dolphin’s Bay, Crael Cay and Zapatilla Cay Expedition / Panama City
This shared full day tour begins with a short boat ride to Laguna Bocatorito or Dolphin’s Bay, where it’s almost guaranteed to spot the semi-permanent population of bottlenose dolphins that graciously will play around the boat. The dolphins of Bocas del Toro seem to have a special predilection for this bay, due to the abundance of small fish, crustaceans and squid of its waters. After this, you will visit two of the most important snorkeling points in the area.  First, you will make a stop in Crawl Cay – one of the most popular snorkeling spots in Bocas del Toro. This tiny island is surrounded by lush coral gardens with an abundance of tropical fishes, coral heads and colorful sponges. Then, a visit to Zapatilla Cay, located on the southeastern of the Bastimentos National Marine Park – 30 minutes’ boat ride from Crawl Cay. Zapatilla Cay is considered the most beautiful island of the Bocas del Toro Archipelago and offers visitors pristine white sand beaches, crystal clear turquoise waters and some of Panama's most attractive coral. Lunch is included in a local restaurant. In the afternoon at the appropriate time, shared transfer the airport to take the flight back to Panama City, upon arrival transfer to your hotel in the city. Transfer to the international airport approximately three hours before your flight's scheduled departure time. (B)
